The IMB has several long-term service options for those willing to leave their comfort zone, cross geographical, cultural, or other barriers to proclaim the Gospel and live out a Christian witness in obedience to the Great Commission.
- Apprentice:
- An initial apprentice term of 3 to 4 years provides the opportunity for long-term missionaries to study the language, experience the culture, develop a rapport with a specific people group, and gain valuable field experience alongside veteran personnel.
- Career:
- As the foundation of our mission efforts, Career missionaries invest a lifetime in cross-cultural evangelism, church development, and church planting movements.
- Associate:
- Those who have successfully completed an apprentice term may be considered for missionary associate service if they do not fully qualify for career service or when a four-year assignment is preferred.

Strategy Leader - Dinka A couple or single male is needed to build on the modest beginnings we started in 2002 in the Akot district and facilitate a CPM among the Dinka in all of southern Sudan. The southern Sudanese are an oral people so we use chronological and situational storying as our prominent method of Bible teaching. Southern Sudan is as big as Kenya and Tanzania put together yet IMB currently has only one couple assigned there. As part of the assignment you will be assisting the cluster leader in researching church growth in the region, plotting and mapping where churches are located, where new work can be started, and assisting our team in church planting strategy for the next few years.
