Lottie Moon Christmas Offering

Every year during the Christmas season, Southern Baptists give sacrificially to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering (LMCO)—the premier method for supporting overseas mission work. Every penny of the offering goes towards the overseas budget of the International Mission Board, which supports the enormous task of reaching Northern Africa and the Middle East (and beyond) for Christ.

The offering is named in honor of Lottie Moon, a woman who set sail for China at age 32. Lottie labored for 39 years, desperate to see the people of China come to know the Savior.

Lottie's passion wasn't just for the people of China, but for the entire world. Lottie wrote letters to her fellow Southern Baptists, detailing the people's hunger for truth and the struggle of so few missionaries sharing the gospel with so many. She shared another timely message, too: the urgent need for more workers and for Southern Baptists passionately supporting them through prayer and giving.

Lottie's urgent message still rings true today. It's impossible to carry out the Lord's command to go and tell the world of his love without the sacrifice of his people. Over 9,600 people who have never heard the Good News die each day in Northern Africa and the Middle East. Will you give so that more may hear?

"Words do fail to express my love for this book, my gratitude for its Author, for His love and goodness; how shall I thank Him for it?"
